A contemporary YUANCARD story · Fictional excerpt

“Let me know when you get there.”

She had heard it before every journey. Then, one day, she found herself saying it to someone else. A small message. A way to say: I thought of you.

Who do you hope gets there safely?

For centuries, coastal communities have told of a guardian who watches over those at sea. YUANCARD draws on that tradition to tell a contemporary story of care.

Cultural source: UNESCO, “Mazu belief and customs.” The tradition was inscribed in 2009; this does not certify this product. UNESCO ↗

Your care, by itself, is already a kind of protection.
